The winget list docs do not mention these parameters:

  • --sort or
  • --asc / --desc

But they show up in the cli docs: winget list --help

I wasn't sure if I submit it here or not?

I cloned and grepped both repos for the string --sort and only found it in this repo here.
( https://github.com/microsoft/winget-cli/ and https://github.com/MicrosoftDocs/windows-dev-docs )

But the markup and images are different, so neither looked like they were the final source?

date mismatch?

This file https://github.com/microsoft/winget-cli/blob/master/doc/windows/package-manager/winget/list.md was updated in 2026 but the yaml says 2021. Maybe this is normal, pointing it out in case it's not.
