Version: Mattermost v6.3.9 ESR Screenreader software: the latest version of JAWS 2022 & NVDA (NonVisual Desktop Access) Operating System: ? Environment: Desktop app

Description: When the user navigates the Header Navigation in the upper right side of the screen and opens its relevant modal windows, the screen reader does not announce that the modal windows are open.

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Mattermost 6.3.9 must be installed on the device.
  2. Login to the Mattermost desktop application.
  3. Navigate to the Recent Mentions button and activate it.
  4. Navigate to the Profile Image button and activate it.

Expected results:

  • SR should announce a confirmation to the user that the "Recent mentions window opened"
  • SR should announce a confirmation to the user that the "Profile modal window opened"
    • The focus should move in a logical order and should go to the NBK ID, which is the first interactive element in the Profile modal window.

QA test conditions:

  • Are the focus order of the content and elements on the page logical?
  • Verify that if a Web page can be navigated sequentially and the navigation sequences affect meaning or operation, focusable components receive focus in an order that preserves meaning and operability.
