Research direction

Start by locating the communications guide in the matplotlib governance repository, then review the linked January 2020 meeting notes. The work is done when the guide clearly distinguishes mpl-content blog posts from advertisements and includes the stated job-posting policy for mailing lists, Discourse, Twitter, and related channels.

Written by the indexing model from the issue text.

Description

communications

Update the comms guide with a clear policy about self-promotional posts. This needs to be resolved in terms of the blog - mpl content versus advert. Also include job post guidelines from Jan 2020 meeting notes

Policy for advertising jobs on mailing list/discourse/twitter/etc
- matplotlib jobs are always acceptable
- jobs advertised by core devs on a case by case basis
- jobs advertised by other scipy stack projects are allowed for reciprocity
