Research direction

Reproduce the issue in the mint-l-theme repository by switching between dark and light Mint-L themes and toggling the panel appearance slider. Inspect the CSS theme definitions and the panel appearance entry point; done means the panel bar changes to the expected light color and the slider no longer has no effect.

Description

When switching from dark/light Mint-L themes, the panel bar's color persists in its dark theme. Nothing happens when toggling the dark mode slider in the panel preference's appearance tab. I use Mint-X as the color I expect the panel bar to be when in a light theme.

When using Mint-X, the panel bar's color is what I expect when using a light theme.

Image

When using Mint-L, the panel bar is stuck in its dark theme.
