Description

Currently this app does not work with ProTools. It would be nice to be able to configure my PT session with an outside music player playing and then, when I hit play in ProTools, to pause what I was listening to so I can focus on the audio in the session. Would this be possible?

Research direction
Investigate how BackgroundMusic currently pauses other apps by hooking audio output, likely via Core Audio or a kernel extension. Determine if ProTools uses a standard audio driver that can be intercepted, or if it uses a proprietary API. Look at existing issues and the source code in https://github.com/kyleneideck/BackgroundMusic to understand the architecture. A potential approach is to detect when ProTools is in playback and mute or pause other audio sources, similar to how the app handles other music players, but ProTools may require specific handling.
