Is there a C/C++ library for control design?

Description
My google search did not reveal one yet.
If my memory is correct, around 1984, Matlab was in C. Jack Little, one of co-founders of the Mathworks converted from the original Fortran versions.
Other than that, possibly GNU Octave seems to be in C/C++ and Fortran.
