Cant directly change value of navbar after initialized

So when we first initialize navbar object with values and render the navbar we cant just do navbar.color = newColor later to change color. Currently the workaround for this is to do
this.navbar = {...this.navbar,color:newColor}
which seems super hacky. If someone can come up with something by which user can simply do navbar.color = newColor that would be great help. Thanks!
