Support for Peer Exchange protocol.

According to Wikipedia, there seem to be three different implementations available.

  • Vuze – introduced in Azureus
  • BitComet – proprietary – introduced in BitComet
  • MainLine – introduced in µTorrent

I think we should start by supporting the MainLine implementation, but I have trouble finding some specs document.

Start by researching the MainLine Peer Exchange (PEX) protocol specification. Since no official spec is available, analyze the µTorrent source code or existing implementations like Vuze. Also review the 10 comments on this issue for any hints or partial specs shared by others. Consider implementing a minimal version based on the behavior described in Wikipedia.
