No Way to Shrink UI Fonts in Brave on Kubuntu 25.04 (KDE Plasma 6 + Wayland)
#49,553 opened on 2025年9月23日
説明
Description
Brave’s UI fonts (tab labels, menus, settings) are excessively large on Kubuntu 25.04 running KDE Plasma 6.4.5 with Wayland. There is currently no reliable way to reduce UI font size without affecting the entire desktop or introducing rendering glitches.
Steps to reproduce
-
Launch Brave using --ozone-platform=wayland
-
Observe oversized UI fonts compared to other KDE apps
-
Attempt to shrink UI fonts using:
--force-device-scale-factor=0.9 → causes window bleed across monitors
Fontconfig overrides (FONTCONFIG_PATH) → no effect
KDE font settings → affects all apps, not Brave-only
GTK/GDK environment variables → ignored
Flatpak version → same behavior
Actual result
UI fonts remain large and unresponsive to all known scaling methods under Wayland. --force-device-scale-factor causes visual glitches in multi-monitor setups.
Expected result
Brave should respect system font scaling or provide a way to adjust UI font size independently of global DPI or device scale.
