Not sure if this use case is shared among others: I use Scanbot to scan my receipts as multi-page PDFs. Would be great if this tool could work on these pdfs.

Scanbot does a sort of OCR itself, but it doesn't seem to be that good, in the sense that it adds too much noise: a receipt contains so much text, and I'm only interested in the articles, price per article, to see price evolution across multiple weeks.

The issue requests adding support for multi page PDF receipts. The current parser uses tesseract OCR on image inputs. To support PDFs, one would need to extract images from PDF pages (e.g., using pdf2image or PyMuPDF) and then process them through the existing OCR pipeline. Consider using a library like pdfplumber to directly extract text if possible. The scope is clear but requires understanding of the existing code structure and image processing flow. Since the issue is old and has no recent activity, it may require maintainer input on preferred approach.
