説明

Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.

I'm currently looking at the "Gather 75 Rocks" mission given by "William Forrest" (not to be confused with the rock collection mission by some Isherwood character)

Great, after my (imaginary) month long vacation, I imagine coming back to the game and this quest. Who the heck is this guy? (Tacoma Farm randomly named foreman).

I then compare this quest to the one above in my particular game: Establish A Trade Route given by "Marvin Russell". BUT it has a further description: "Establish trade relations between the scrapper and some artisans."

Solution you would like.

Make sure missions have descriptions that identify who the parties involved are, especially when the name of the person who gives the mission is randomly generated in the world (but recognition of who the static characters in the world are shouldn't be required). As a minimum, the faction(s) should be identified.

Examples I happen to have:

  • Find a copy of the Quran by "Fatima al Jadir". No further description (at the Refugee Center).
  • Find reference material about air rifles for Jenny. No quest giver name. "Find reference material about air rifles. A book that has 'Pneumatic' in its name could be the thing she wants." Good description of what, but not who (Refugee Center).
  • Find the debug software, given by "Jay Ruckers". Description of what to get and where, but who is this guy ("the artisans").
  • Download Workstation Data by "Karl Rojas". Target location. Who is this? (Randomly named medic at Refugee Center).
  • Bring 10 large plastic sheets by "Dino Dave, Beggar", period. The faction is in the name, but it wouldn't hurt to mention that he's located at the Refugee Center.
  • Bring Boris his son's lost writing. by "Boris Borishenko". Find Boris' son's laptop in the evac shelter marked on your map. (Refugee Center, and the target location failed to be generated, but at least the item can be debug spawned).
  • In a Pickle Pt. 2 by "Leland Foote". "Deliver 50 large three-liter jars in exchange for 25 certified notes." (Randomly named trader at the Refugee Center).

Describe alternatives you have considered.

  • Hope that memory keeps up or the realization that pen and paper (or a text document) ought to be used is gained before it's too late.
  • Addition of the quest givers' locations in the Mission log (even that rather cryptic raw coordinate format can be used to get a rough bearing, even if there's no support to bring up a marker on the map, but the ability to display the quest giver's location as an alternative to the target would be better).
