Description

Requesting OpenMoji designs for the vegan symbol (Ⓥ) and a vegetarian indicator. These are widely used symbols in food labeling but have no standardized emoji representation.

Rationale

  • The international vegan symbol (Ⓥ) is used across millions of food products, restaurant menus, and food service interfaces worldwide
  • The Indian FSSAI mandates green dot/brown dot vegetarian/non-vegetarian labeling on all packaged food — this is the world's largest food labeling system by population served
  • No major emoji set includes dedicated vegan/vegetarian indicators
  • Plant-based food is one of the fastest-growing market segments globally

Design Suggestions

These could sit alongside OpenMoji's existing food category emojis.
