Research direction
Research the CLDR ticket http://unicode.org/cldr/trac/ticket/8052 to understand the u cf extension for currency formatting. Review the globalize source code to see where currency formatting is implemented (likely in src/currency.js). Explore how other Unicode extensions are handled in the library to follow the same pattern. Check if CLDR has since implemented the specification and update the library accordingly.
