Hi!

First, thanks for this wonderful project!

Two things:

  1. got disconnected from the IRC server, but I didn't notice it (a friend told me that this stuff was displayed: MyNick (~MyNick@myserver.example.com) has quit (Ping timeout: 265 seconds). I didn't saw anything (neither any error) in the interface, just talking alone for a moment. Ideally, having a icon showing the current connection status will be great!
  2. after display this, a cool thing would be a click on a "Retry" button, to restart the connection without losing all the history

Checked the logs, nothing displayed. ~7min after the timeout, got Error: read ECONNRESET in the output.

Examine the connection handling code in the main client file (e.g., lib/client.js) to understand current disconnection handling. Look at the UI templates for a suitable place to add a status indicator and retry button. Consider reviewing the fork The Lounge (https://github.com/thelounge) for any similar implementation of connection status and reconnection features. The issue comments may contain additional user feedback on desired behavior.
