Description of the feature request:
There are a few in-house use cases (linter, even some parts of IDE experience setup etc.) where this would be helpful and since this is something that Bazel already supports in aquery as well as cquery, I believe the same can also be supported for queries as well.
This works,
./bazel aquery ... --output=jsonproto
./bazel cquery ... --output=jsonproto
Feature request: the following should work as well:
./bazel query ... --output=jsonproto
