Description

Right now, it looks like there are dedicated packages for windows, mac, but for linux there are only .deb packages. It would be very useful to have distro agnostic .tgz release packages as well.

Research direction
Investigate the existing build and packaging scripts used for .deb packages. Look in the `scripts/` or `ci/` directories for packaging logic. Adapt the script to also generate a .tgz archive containing the same binaries. Ensure the archive is structured appropriately for distribution.
