Research direction

Start by tracing the apply entry point and how its args and kwargs are sent to engines. Identify how sequences are currently broadcast, then determine the scatter object's intended semantics for sending one object to each engine. Done means apply accepts the new object in either argument position and tests verify per-engine distribution.

Description

enhancement

Such an object, when passed to args or kwargs of apply, would tell apply to send one object in the wrapped sequence to each engine (rather than "broadcasting" the entire sequence to every engine).
