Description

Following up on kripken/emscripten#3016.

The cURL API is well tested and well known. I'm not sure we could implement it to match all cURL features, but the cURL API definitely covers the XHR browser API, effectively replacing emscripten_wget_*.

Any good soul and/or lazy intern in a company using Emscripten that would be willing to implement that?

Research direction
Examine the existing emscripten wget * functions in the Emscripten source code. Research the cURL API to identify which features (e.g., options, callbacks) can be replicated with XMLHttpRequest. Propose a design and implement a JavaScript library that wraps XHR with a cURL like interface. Consider testing in real Emscripten projects.
