Reproduce the issue in both the master version and the redesign from #120 by clicking a visible day from another month. Trace the date-selection entry point and verify that changing the displayed month also selects the clicked day, with no-day-selected state remaining afterward.

Status: Confirmed

When I select a day that is visible but belongs to another month, the panel jumps to that month, but does not select the day. Instead, no day is selected.

Happens both on master and with the redesign in #120
