Research direction

Search the notification rendering code for the voice-message-recording.ogg filename and compare it with the existing call notification wording. The work is done when incoming voice-message notifications display a clear voice-message label, optionally with a suitable emoji, instead of the file name.

Your use case
What would you like to do?

When receiving a voice message (e.g. from EXA), rather than sending a file name, just call it a voice message.

Why would you like to do it?

It's a bit easier to understand. I first notice the ".ogg", so I think I was sent an audio file, then I see the name is "voice-message-recording.ogg", and realize it's a voice message.

How would you like to achieve it?

Instead show just "voice message" with an emoji maybe? This would match what's done for call notifications.

I couldn't find a great emoji: looked for audio cassette, voice recorder, record player, etc. Best I found was either 🗣️ or 🎧. So something like:

"🗣️ voice message"
or
"🎧 voice message"

Have you considered any alternatives?
