Description

Sony cameras such as the Nex7 produce ARW files. metadata-extractor parses the TIFF successfully, but the tags are unknown or even incorrectly presented.

Note that Exiftool can process these files.

This issue is old but still open. Start by examining how Exiftool handles Sony ARW files to understand the required metadata fields. Then, study the existing TIFF parsing code in metadata extractor to see how tags are currently extracted. Finally, implement support by adding the necessary tag descriptors for Sony ARW and test with sample files.
