Version Update needed: ValueError: alternative_import must be a fully qualified module path

Start with requirements.txt and reproduce the failure using docker compose up, checking the dependency versions listed in the issue. Update the dependency pins as appropriate and verify that a fresh install starts without the alternative_import ValueError.
