Research direction
Examine the TODO in the linked PR (https://github.com/delta io/delta/pull/1997/files#diff 5cb3cf0ceae35a52c795160b693fe7de20a6d25fe6de5612da32340d7a67035fR42) to understand which implicit cast conversions are missing. Study the existing cast implementations in the Delta Kernel source code, likely in files related to type conversion. Implement additional cast rules for common type pairs, following the pattern established by existing conversions. Ensure tests are added to cover new cast paths.
