Django-dynamic-preferences is looking for new maintainer(s)

Hi there! I have been maintaining django-dynamic-preferences for more than a decade now. I used it for a long long time, but since 2022, I'm not using it anymore. So far, I've managed to keep it compatible with new version of django and Python, but this is less and less secure and sustainable: because I don't use it, I'm more likely to make mistakes, break things, etc.

I think the project deserves more care and attention than I can provide, especially since it seems to be used by others

So, if you're using django-dynamic-preferences, if you rely on it, and have some spare resources (mostly time), I'm kindly asking you to consider stepping up.

The past years, my work has mostly been:

• Update the test suite to run it against newer versions of django
• Review/merge contributions whenever I can
• Publish new releases

The project itself is pretty stable, there are obviously bugs and room for improvement, but the API has been stable for five years now.

It was my first real django library, I was a junior dev when I started it, and it taught me a lot. If you're interested but not sure if you're up to the task or have some questions, feel free to reach out either here or by email at site@agate.blue and we can discuss the details.

I'm giving it until the end of 2026 to transition the project to one or multiple other maintainers. This means we can do things gradually, I can dedicate some time to help you take progressive ownership of the project, answer your questions, offer guidance and context, etc.

If nobody steps up by then, I will archive the project and consider the work done. Maybe someone else can fork it, or start something new and different, that could be a good outcome too!

Anyway, thank you for trusting me all that time, and all the kind interactions, support and help. It was a lot of fun and a privilege to work on this for such a long time ❤️
