What does the feature do?
Implement PRW 2.0 while keeping 1.0 supported.
What's new with Remote Write 2.0
- Time-series gets a new field called start_timestamp https://github.com/prometheus/prometheus/blob/main/prompb/io/prometheus/write/v2/types.proto#L134 This is designed to provide context information for metrics like counter, to indicate when did it start. So the query engine can return correct value for
rateeven if there is only one sample.
