Research direction
Reproduce the catalogue behavior using the three repositories linked in the issue: the original repository, its fork, and the fork of that fork. Compare how valid tags are detected and how each repository is added to the catalogue, including the note that forks do not inherit tags. Done means valid tagged repositories are represented correctly without unexpected duplicates.

Edit: Forks when forked, they do not come with the tags, so this should avoid as many duplicates as expected at first glance.
