EDIT: this appears to be a recurring characteristics of several plots. At least in the PDF viewers I have used, there are no subplot labels
For figure 12.4 The caption refers to (a) (b) (c), but these labels don't appear in the plot. Probably changing to (top), (bottom left), (bottom right) would be easiest fix.
