Description

PR #700 introduced the option hover_label, which shows the label of a datapoint when the user hovers over it with the mouse. For now, this feature is not tested in CI, because it requires an interactive backend.

Thoughts on implementation

Add one extra job skipping all tests except the interactive ones? It would require to somehow fake the hover action too, as part of the code is only executed when the hover action is triggered.

Examine the existing CI configuration (e.g., .github/workflows/) and the test suite for plotting features. Review the hover label implementation introduced in PR #700 to understand how hover events are handled. Explore options for simulating mouse hover actions in a headless environment, such as using matplotlib's event system or a backend like 'Agg'. Propose a new CI job that runs only the interactive tests, possibly using xvfb or a fake display.
