Description

The community features and midi command/follow menus have grown and no longer really reflect their purposes. We should restructure them to make it easier for users to follow

Some things in that menu can def be classified as less stable however

Eg chord keyboard

Community features reorg:

move to ui menu

  • Sticky Shift
  • DX7 editor

Experimental (ie may be changed) - Horizontal Menus - Chord Keyboard Layouts - Drum randomizer Utilities - Display Emulation (also hide it on 7seg) - Sysex

Midi reorg:

Combine midi commands and midi follow into a new global midi menu? Like putting them in one top level menu maybe. In future we might also want to assign CCs to the commands and have them editable like midi follow CCs

Contributor guide

Research direction
Investigate the current menu structure in the firmware source code, locate the items mentioned (Sticky Shift, DX7 editor, Horizontal Menus, etc.), and understand how menus are registered and displayed. Then plan how to move them to the proposed new locations while considering the experimental/utility classification.
