Description

The x-tagGroups extension is great, but I find myself wanting to share a link URL to a specific tagGroup, and not a tag itself. Is there any way this could be added?

Check the codebase for how tag groups are rendered in the sidebar or content. Likely you need to add an anchor ID to each tag group heading and ensure it is clickable to update the URL hash. Look for existing tag rendering logic and replicate with the heading tag.
