Research direction

The payload identifies only the Unemployment section and gives no file or notebook path; start by locating that section in the lectures. Clarify the GDP–unemployment and recession definitions, then determine whether a focused US–France recovery chart is required and use the agreed editorial changes as the completion check.

Description

Section: Unemployment

How is unemployment related to business cycles? Clarify the linkage between GDP and unemployment. Business cycles are generally a vague term -- however measuring of recessions is in terms of GDP growth. How are recessions defined?

Project: Does unemployment recover quicker in the US after a recession compared to Europe (due to labour market frictions) and can this be seen on a more focused chart comparing US and France (for example)
