Research direction

Start by reading layouts/cfp/list.html and locate the bottom of the page template. Add the FAQPage JSON-LD block using the five proposed questions and their answers from the CFP content. Verify that the rendered /cfp/ page includes the completed structured-data block.

Written by the indexing model from the issue text.

Description

priority: medium schema seo

Problem

The /cfp/ page contains implicit Q&A content ("Who Should Submit?", "What Are We Looking For?", "Speaker Ticket Policy") but exposes no FAQPage JSON-LD.

FAQ schema is among the highest-correlation schema types for AI Overview citations (Google, Perplexity, ChatGPT). Each Q&A pair becomes a directly extractable passage.

Note: FAQ schema no longer earns Google rich results for commercial sites (restricted since Aug 2023), but the GEO / AI citation benefit is significant.

Proposed questions to include

  • Who can submit a talk to PyCon Ireland 2026?
  • What topics is PyCon Ireland 2026 looking for?
  • Do speakers get free tickets?
  • When does the PyCon Ireland 2026 CFP open?
  • What talk formats are accepted?

Files to change

  • layouts/cfp/list.html — add <script type="application/ld+json"> FAQPage block at the bottom
