Research direction

The issue names no files, tests, or entry points. Start by locating the PowerShell completion implementation and its handling of trigger characters, then determine where a setting and coverage for variable completion would belong. Done means the setting exposes variables without a leading $ and confirming a variable completion inserts $ as described.

Description

Issue-Enhancement Needs: Triage
Prerequisites
  • I have written a descriptive issue title.
  • I have searched all issues to ensure it has not already been requested.
Summary

I would like to request a setting to include variables on completion list without triggering $ to save my hand from typing it, I just don't like typing $.

Proposed Design

For example, when typing IsWi, $IsWindows should appear in completion list even if I didn't type leading $. And this kind of item should autocomplete the $ on confirm.
