Description

Does this issue occur when all extensions are disabled?: Yes

  • VS Code Version: 1.80.0
  • OS Version: Linux x64

Steps to Reproduce:

  1. Open a project with a git repository.
  2. Make a change to the .gitignore file.
  3. Go to the Source Control tab (place to stage changes, commit, and push)
  4. Right click on .gitignore.
  5. Add to .gitignore is there. If clicked, then it will add .gitignore to the .gitignore file. This can be done an infinite amount of times.
