Description

Investigate the WinFSP FUSE compatibility layer for a possible future Windows version of AppImage.

Note that I won't be spending time to figure this out myself as I am not interested in using Windows, but I would welcome contributors to look into it.

Research direction
Investigate the WinFSP library (https://github.com/billziss gh/winfsp) and its FUSE compatibility layer. Determine if WinFSP can be used to mount AppImages on Windows. Examine the fuse3/fuse.h header file provided and review the 7 comments in the issue for any prior insights. Report findings on feasibility and potential integration hurdles.
